Taking Pride in Our LGBTQ+ Fertility Options

Everyone’s journey to parenthood is unique and having a child is something that many of us dream of. Thanks to the more widespread availability of family building options, it’s easier for this dream to become a reality for more individuals and couples, especially those who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. While taking pride in our LGBTQ+ fertility options, we hope to help you start your family.

A 2019 study found that 63% of LGBTQ+ millennials (aged 18-35) said they were thinking about expanding their families by either becoming parents for the first time or having more children. And 48% of LGBTQ+ millennials are actively planning to grow their families. Compared to 55% of non-LGBTQ Millennials, this gap has narrowed significantly compared to previous generations.

For over two decades, Fertility Centers of New England has been a strong advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. We’re proud of the work we’ve done to help LGBTQ+ individuals and couples build a family regardless of their marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Happy families come in many forms, and we remain committed to helping you build yours.

Taking the First Steps

If you’re ready to take the first step on your path to parenthood, you’re likely wondering what family building options are available to you. We understand that individual needs are unique and that LGBTQ+ family building options should be designed to meet you where you are in your journey. With that in mind, our doctors will work closely with you to create a customized family building plan for your needs.

By working with a fertility doctor, you can see each partner’s fertility level and help determine what options work best for you, which include:

  • Sperm donation
  • Egg donation
  • In vitro fertilization (IVF)
  • Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
  • Surrogacy

For many hopeful parents, the cost can often be an obstacle when pursuing fertility treatments or family building options. In addition to our individual treatment plans, we offer pricing programs among the most competitive in the country. You can explore all of our financing options here and talk with one of our financial experts to understand how you can afford to build your family with us.

Using a sperm donor of your choosing (a family member, friend, or anonymous donor), we will help you determine which fertility treatment best fits your needs. Treatments like IUI or IVF can help maximize your chances of success. Additionally, couples can opt for the Partner Assisted Reproduction (PAR) or Reciprocal IVF program. Through this, the eggs from one partner are harvested and fertilized and then transferred into the other partner to carry the baby. This allows both partners to participate in the family-building process.

Gay Family Building

Men looking to build their family can use donor eggs and a surrogate to aid in this process. Additionally, couples have the option of using the sperm of one partner and a donor egg from a relative of the other partner so that each can have a biological connection to the child.

Trans Family Building

Trans men can use egg freezing technology to preserve their ability to have a genetically related child when they are ready to start building their family. Surrogacy and egg donor programs are also available to help you on your path toward parenthood.

Starting Your Family

When you’re ready to start your family-building journey, we’re here to help make that dream a reality. Our compassionate care team can help guide you along the way. We are taking pride in our LGBTQ+ fertility options and hope to help you start your family.
