Egg Freezing

Why Egg Freezing?

Egg freezing also called oocyte cryopreservation offers women the potential to take control of their reproductive health until they are ready to attempt pregnancy. Egg freezing requires stimulation of the ovaries with medications designed to create more eggs that can be extracted, frozen and stored for years. Once pregnancy is desired, the eggs can be thawed and fertilized after exposure to sperm. Resulting embryos then can be transferred to the uterus in an attempt to achieve a successful pregnancy. The development of a new cryopreservation technology called vitrification used routinely by The Fertility Centers of New England has greatly improved the ability to safely freeze and thaw human eggs to where now pregnancy success rates approach those achieved using non frozen eggs.

The Fertility Centers of New England is proud to offer Egg Freezing. We were the first Center from which a successful pregnancy was delivered in Northern New England from a previously frozen egg.
