Text4baby: Support During and After Pregnancy

text4baby

Text4baby is an initiative sponsored by the CDC and supported by the American College of Gynecology. Currently it is the largest, national health text-messaging service offered. It is a governmental resource that provides both recommendations and resources for pregnant women throughout the pregnancy and into the neonatal period. The health tips are timed to the due date.

This system is a boon for mother and baby alike. It increases both awareness and knowledge of issues pertaining to particular stages of pregnancy. Additionally, it facilitates conversations with your physician and provides reminders regarding necessary immunization and provides reminders of prenatal appointments.

Women receive approximately three messages weekly from the inception of pregnancy (and registering) through the first year of the baby’s life. The messages are timed initially according to due date and then according to the baby’s birthdate; thus, the most clinically relevant information can be provided. Educational sources at your fingertips provides for better care and improved well-being for mother and baby alike.
