Endometriosis Care and Awareness

Endometriosis Care and Awareness

Endometriosis affects approximately 11% of women in the U.S., yet on average, those impacted face a 10-year delay in diagnosis, and symptoms are too often dismissed. At Fertility Centers of New England, we are deeply committed to changing that statistic and championing better endometriosis care and awareness.

Advocating for Change: Endometriosis Task Force in Massachusetts

On July 9, 2025, a new Massachusetts bill to establish a statewide Task Force on Endometriosis aimed at enhancing treatment, research, and patient outcomes was proposed. This initiative represents a significant step forward in ensuring that individuals suffering from endometriosis receive timely, effective care through improved education, early diagnosis, multidisciplinary collaboration, and equitable access.

Dr. Antonio Gargiulo Testifies on the Front Lines

We are especially proud that our own Dr. Antonio Gargiulo, Medical Director of Advanced Reproductive Surgery at Fertility Centers of New England, offered powerful testimony in support of this legislation. A nationally recognized specialist in robotic reproductive surgery, Dr. Gargiulo specializes in endometriosis excisions, a surgical approach that can be life-changing for patients.

In his testimony, Dr. Gargiulo emphasized the urgent need for:

  • Routine multidisciplinary teams (gynecology, pain specialists, urology, GI, mental health)

  • Better funding for research into minimally invasive excision techniques

  • Comprehensive training for providers to tackle endometriosis early and effectively

His words carry immense weight, grounded both in surgical expertise and personal advocacy, especially for patients whose pain has, for too long, been dismissed.

Endometriosis Treatment and Support

At Fertility Centers of New England, we have long prioritized endometriosis care. Under Dr. Gargiulo’s leadership, our Advanced Reproductive Surgery program offers cutting-edge robotic excision, the gold standard for preserving fertility while addressing disease

What This Means for Patients With Endometriosis

  1. Improved Access: If the task force is approved, Massachusetts patients can look forward to faster diagnosis, more provider education, and coordinated care systems

  2. Advanced Surgical Solutions: Patients at Fertility Centers of New England will continue to benefit from Dr. Gargiulo’s expertise in robotic excision, which helps reduce pain and preserve fertility

  3. Trusted Advocacy: In addition to his surgical work, Dr. Gargiulo is helping shape state-level policy to support better and more equitable reproductive healthcare

Endometriosis deserves attention, not just clinical intervention but systemic change. Massachusetts is emerging as a leader in combining surgical excellence, policy advocacy, and community support to redefine care for endometriosis patients across the region.

At Fertility Centers of New England, our mission is to shorten diagnosis timelines, elevate care standards, and stand with every individual navigating this often-overlooked disease.
