R. Ian Hardy, M.D., Ph.D.
Medical Director
Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
Dr. Hardy joined the Fertility Center of New England, Inc. in 1994, after completing 17 years of advanced academic and medical training. A cum laude graduate of Princeton University, he earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he also received a Ph.D. in physiology and biophysics. In 1985, Dr. Hardy was one of five Americans to be awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for study at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research in Paris. Thereafter, he completed an internship in internal medicine followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Stanford University. He then completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology.
During his training, Dr. Hardy received numerous awards including the American Fertility Society research grant in reproductive endocrinology, the Harvard Medical School Fund for Discovery grant, and funding from the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Hardy earned two U.S. patents for his innovative research in laser technology and assessment of embryo quality. Dr. Hardy has compiled a long list of awards, research publications, book chapters, and invited national presentations. He also served on the faculty of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s graduate courses.
Dr. Hardy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of several societies involved with reproductive medicine. Dr. Hardy was recently recognized by the Consumers’ Research Council as one of “America’s top infertility specialists”.
Joseph A. Hill, III, M.D.
Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
Before joining the Fertility Centers of New England, Dr. Hill served in academic medicine for over 17 years and was the Director of Reproductive Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an Associate Professor in OB-GYN and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Hill is a world-renown speaker and expert in reproductive medicine, especially relating to infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. He has been named as one of “The Best Doctors in America” in three national consumer publications annually since 1994.
Dr. Hill completed his medical degree and residency at The Medical College of Georgia. He completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and another in Reproductive Immunology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Hill has been awarded several academic scholarships and grants from the NIH; published more than 150 scientific and clinical papers and textbook chapters; and presented at numerous medical and scientific meetings in 22 countries. He is a member of many professional associations including The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, The American Gynecological and Obstetrical Society, The American Society for Reproductive Medicine, The Endocrine Society, The Society for Gynecologic Investigation, and The Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Hill enjoys winter sports, horseback riding, music (he has been a jazz drummer for 40 years and most recently, the piano), reading, writing, and traveling with his children.
Robert M. Weiss, M.D.
Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
Dr. Weiss currently serves as Director of Reproductive Medicine and Reproductive Surgery at Boston Medical Center. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Weiss is an accomplished speaker and has presented on numerous occasions throughout the United States and Europe. Dr. Weiss was recently named one of the “Top Doctors” in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology by Boston Magazine February, 2006.
Dr. Weiss completed his medical degree at Rutgers Medical School. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Weiss completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Weiss’ research clinical interests are in the management of infertility and treatment of benign gynecological disorders, including endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and ovarian cysts. Dr. Weiss also has a clinical interest and sees many patients with chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis. He is a member of many professional associations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons.
Dr. Weiss is available to see patients in our Reading, Dedham and Westborough offices. He will continue with his academic affiliation at Boston University School of Medicine.
Danielle Vitiello, Ph.D., M.D.
Board-Eligible Reproductive Endocrinologist
Dr. Danielle Vitiello joins us from Yale-New Haven Hospital where she was on the faculty of Yale University’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Vitiello graduated with honors in Chemistry from Boston University. She received her medical degree from the University of Vermont where she also received a PhD in Molecular Genetics. She completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hospital and continued at Yale to complete her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Vitiello has received numerous awards for her basic and clinically applied research and for excellence in teaching. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and numerous other academic and medical societies including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Vitiello is certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Vitiello is available to see patients in both our Bedford, NH and Reading, MA locations.
Lynette A. Scott, Ph.D.
HCLD, Director, Assisted Reproductive Technology Laboratories
Dr. Lynette Scott earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Biology and Master of Science in Biomolecular Organization from University of London. She is Board Certified as a High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) by the American Board of Bioanalysis, the highest designation for a Lab Director.
Dr. Scott has been in the field of fertility since 1984 as an embryologist and andrologist at internationally renowned institutions. She served as an A.R.T. Laboratory Director since 1989. She is the author of seven chapters in textbooks, 25 peer-reviewed articles, and 36 abstracts, based on research, that in many cases, influences outcomes in fertility patients. Dr. Scott served as Associate Editor and a Reviewer for Human Reproduction and a reviewer for The Journal of Reproduction.
Dr. Scott is nationally-renown and has presented at more than 20 national and international meetings in the U.S. and abroad. She is a member of many professional organizations including Society for the Study of Fertility, European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, American Society of Andrology, and the Society for the Study of Reproduction.
