Partners for Pregnancy
Financial Shared Risk with a Money-Back-Guarantee
The decision to proceed with recommended treatment can be difficult and based on many factors. If one of these factors is cost, we understand. The Fertility Centers of New England has always offered services at the most competitive price and supports payment options through Care Credit. Even with these options, choices about spending your financial resources may lead many who are having difficulty having a child but lack the insurance coverage for more advanced treatments to further postpone their dreams of parenthood. Our hope is to enable those needing IVF or a Donor Egg Recipient cycle to receive that care.
We designed the ‘Partners for Pregnancy’ (PFP) program to guarantee that should a qualified participant not achieve a successful pregnancy as defined as a live birth, the refundable portion of the program will be returned so that alternatives can be pursued. In other words, we will partner with you doing all that we can for you to achieve a successful pregnancy including sharing the financial risks with you by providing a money-back-guarantee should pregnancy success not be achieved. A refund will not be given for an electively terminated pregnancy.
The American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) has stated a favorable opinion regarding money-back-guarantees provided that full disclosure is given and conservative guidelines for embryo replacement are observed. Our plan does not guarantee success, but allows many to achieve a successful pregnancy through IVF or a Donor Egg Recipient cycle for a cost much less than adoption. Due to the return of the refundable portion of the plan fee, other options such as adoption remain possible for those who do not achieve success. The plan does not guarantee a successful outcome, but is a unique plan that limits the financial risk if success is not achieved.
Money-Back IVF Guarantee
The Partners for Pregnancy IVF refund plan includes up to three fresh IVF cycles and additional frozen-embryo cycles, should they be available, to achieve a successful pregnancy. The plan is considered successful if a live birth results. A refund will not be given for an electively terminated pregnancy. A completed IVF cycle is defined by the retrieval of all available eggs followed by transfer of all embryos (fresh or frozen), if any.
Please keep in mind that prices are subject to change so please contact us for current fees.
Plan Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the Partners for Pregnancy refund plan, a participant must meet all the requirements of our regular fee-for-service IVF program and must not have had a prior unsuccessful IVF cycle. Eligibility may be considered on a case-by-case basis if a prior unsuccessful IVF cycle is thought to have been due to a potentially correctable condition such as polyps, fibroids or uncorrected hydrosalpinges. Additionally, the participant must not have insurance coverage for in vitro fertilization.
The following criteria must be met in order to participate in the money-back-guarantee, financially shared risk, Partners for Pregnancy IVF Refund Plan:
Female requirements:
- Female partner must complete her cycles before her 35th Birthday.
- The female partner must have an FSH level on Day 2 or Day 3 < 10 with Estradiol < 60pg/mL. (Blood work must be performed in our laboratory)
- Female must have a BMI >19 and < 27.
- Normal uterine cavity and no hydrosalpinges. (If present, they must be removed or the fallopian tubes ligated prior to acceptance into the program)
- No contraindication to IVF treatment or pregnancy.
- Female must have no history of >1 miscarriage.
- To remain eligible in the program the female must have at least eight mature eggs at retrieval if age >=30 and two ovaries or at least six mature eggs at retrieval if age <30 and or one ovary.
Male requirements:
- Male partner must be <55 years of age.

- Males are eligible following PESA/TESA if they had a prior vasectomy.
Couple requirements:
- Must be non-smokers.
- Must inseminate all eggs.
- Must accept embryo cryopreservation if indicated.
- Must agree to accept embryo transfer recommendation of the Plan based on ASRM guidelines.

The plan usually takes no longer than 9 months and must be completed within 12 months following the first egg retrieval. Each IVF cycle corresponds to an ovarian stimulation treatment followed by aspiration of eggs under intravenous conscious sedation (IVCS) provided by a CRNA (fee for CRNA not included), their fertilization in the embryology laboratory followed by the transfer of one or two fertilized eggs or embryos, if any. If pregnancy is not achieved, the couple will meet with the physician to discuss a "frozen" embryo transfer or a repeat IVF cycle, if applicable after all frozen embryos if any, have been transferred unless < 2 embryos remain.
Plan Costs: $24,000
Should a successful pregnancy as defined as a live birth not be attained following 3 fresh IVF attempts and all frozen embryo transfers, if any, then 70% or $16,800 will be refunded with 30%, $7,200 retained for administrative program costs. A refund will not be given for an electively terminated pregnancy.
If you are interested in this Plan and meet the above criteria, you must notify our office and request a medical consult. A financial consult at no charge is also necessary for eligibility before your cycle starts. Additional costs may be incurred based on additional parameters. Plan Terms:
The Partners for Pregnancy IVF Refund Plan consists of a refundable and non-refundable portion should success not be attained. The refundable portion of the Plan fee will be held in the participant's account with the Fertility Centers of New England (FCNE). Upon confirmation of pregnancy proceeding to a live birth, FCNE will apply the entire refundable portion. If after up to three completed IVF cycles no pregnancy has proceeded to a live birth and all available embryos have been transferred, the refundable portion will be returned to the participant. A refund will not be given for an electively terminated pregnancy. After each completed IVF cycle, the participant and physician meet and determine together the appropriateness of proceeding with a repeat attempt. In other words, both FCNE and the couple retain the right to terminate the Plan at any time following the transfer of all available embryos.
FCNE reserves the right to disqualify a patient based on previous poor response. The plan usually takes no longer than nine (9) months and must be completed within twelve (12) months and prior to the female's 35th birthday and the male's 55th birthday. Each IVF cycle corresponds to an ovarian stimulation treatment followed by aspiration of the eggs, their fertilization in the embryology laboratory followed by transfer of fertilized eggs or embryos, if any to the recipient. If pregnancy is not achieved, the couple will meet with the physician to discuss a 'frozen' embryo transfer, if applicable, or a repeat fresh IVF cycle after all frozen embryos if any, have been transferred unless <2 embryos remain. Additional testing may be required prior to recycling if results of cycle suggest other factors may be impairing IVF success, which are not included in the Plan.
The Plan does not cover the cost of procedures not involving the IVF as defined above or contracted services. Such additional costs may include, but are not limited to hospital and physician fees associated radiology expenses, laboratories, surgery required to evaluate or treat the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes and complications resulting from treatment of pregnancy. Also excluded from the Plan are the costs of CRNA services for intravenous conscious sedation (IVCS).
Plan Termination
Most patients who do not achieve a successful pregnancy following their first cycle will be recommended to proceed with a repeat attempt. The main reason not to do so would include inadequate ovarian response, inadequate egg quality, inadequate embryo quality, psychological contraindications, medical contraindications or poor patient compliance.
Fertility Centers of New England retains the right to terminate a patient’s participation after each completed cycle. If no pregnancy occurs and FCNE elects to terminate the Partners for Pregnancy IVF Refund Plan, FCNE will refund the sum paid minus the fee-for-service payment up to that time plus a $2,000 administration fee. If FCNE terminates the cycle before egg retrieval, FCNE will refund the sum paid minus the fee-for-service payment up to that time plus a $2,000 administration fee. Similarly, if the patient elects to terminate participation without completing all cycles, the patient will be charged the fee-for-service price for all services performed plus a $2,000 administration fee.
Money-Back Donor Egg Recipient Guarantee
Women who have had difficulty having a family using their own eggs, women whose fertility has been impaired by cancer treatments or ovarian surgery, and same sex couples are among the many who have become parents using donor eggs. The decision to pursue a donor egg cycle is complex and unfortunately choices are often made based on economic considerations. As nearly half of patients having IVF with donor eggs may need to have a second cycle or more before a successful pregnancy is established, the price for these services can be daunting causing many who need donor eggs to remain childless.
The Fertility Centers of New England has a proven program for donor egg recipients. Our Partners for Pregnancy Donor Egg Recipient refund plan is designed to help you manage the cost of IVF treatment using donor eggs while maximizing your chances of success. The Plan includes up to three fresh Donor Egg IVF cycles and additional frozen-embryo cycles, should they be available, to achieve a successful pregnancy. The Plan is considered successful if a pregnancy progresses to a live birth. A refund will not be given for an electively terminated pregnancy. A completed IVF Donor Egg cycle is defined by the retrieval of all available donor eggs followed by transfer of all embryos (fresh or frozen), if any.
It is important to understand that we cannot guarantee a successful outcome. However, we do guarantee that should you not achieve success as defined as a live birth, the refundable portion of the Plan fees (70%) will be returned so that alternatives such as adoption can be pursued. In other words, there is shared risk financially between the couple and FCNE.
Please keep in mind that prices are subject to change, so please contact us for current fees.
