REPORTS TO: Director of Patient Services

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Coordinator I answers telephones and provides administrative assistance to the practice including scheduling, check-in and check-out. This position serves as the first point of contact with patients and visitors and provides assistance to individuals by responding to routine questions; providing general information.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer, Screen & Direct incoming calls. Relay messages to staff, take necessary action when required.
  • Appointment Scheduling
  • Greeting Patients and Visitors
  • Collect Co-pays
  • Check Messages
  • Confirm Appointments
  • Copying of Medical Records
  • Pulling Medical Records for Appointments
  • Appropriate paperwork on charts for MD day
  • Medical Record Filing
  • Scanning of Medical Records into EMR
  • Fax HSG Demographics
  • Transcription
  • Print Daily Schedule
  • Surgical Booking
  • Send Patient Packets
  • Office Supplies- Ordering
  • Building Management Calls
  • Replenish Coffee Supplies at the end of each work day
  • Mail
  • Blood Room Encounter Forms
  • Request Charts from Archive
  • Keep Statistics and MD Lists Updated
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
  • Travel to other Satellite offices as assigned (Boston, Braintree, Westborough)
